If Bush is for him, I’m against him

Nancy Keenan is president of NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Well, it’s official. Sen. John McCain is now the Republican nominee for president. [I’m going to pause for a moment here to let that sink in.]

Anti-choice Sen. John McCain, he of the 25-year anti-choice voting record, is now the Republican nominee for president.

After securing more than the 1,191 delegates (CNN reports he has 1289) required to win the Republican nomination, anti-choice McCain appeared with anti-choice President Bush in the Rose Garden of the White House to secure the president’s endorsement.

I don’t know about you, but seeing McCain on the White House lawn was as close to the Oval Office as I EVER want to see him… so we have work to do!

Please take a moment to visit the McCain section of our website where you can read our 14-page profile, his scores from 1987 – 2006 , and read his public statements on choice. And be sure to spread the word that McCain is anything but the “moderate maverick” he claims to be.
